How I Work

Frontend Craft
TypeScript, React, Next.js, Astro - every project has unique needs, and I choose carefully each time. I care deeply about performance, accessibility, and bringing thoughtfulness into interfaces that respect the user's time and attention.
Mobile Experiences
My first love was iOS development, followed by the sensible arrangement of a union with React Native. Making things go beep on a glass rectangle is a thrill that still excites me, and I bring that passion to every mobile project I work on.
Design Partnership
I speak Figma fluently and love collaborating with designers to bring pixel-perfect visions to life. Whether it's prototyping interactions or solving technical constraints together, I believe great products come from tight design-engineering partnerships.
Full-Stack Understanding
I've worked with backend engineers with varying degrees of curmudgeoness, touching on Node.js, Go microservices, AWS, modern CI/CD. I understand the whole stack well enough to make smart architectural decisions and ship confidently.
Musical background
I am a trumpet player. A few years back, I recorded and toured multiple times around Europe, USA, Asia and Australia (totalling around 600 shows) with groups such as múm, Seabear and Kira Kira, including serving as Musical Director for Sigur Rós from 2012-2013. Currently, I am a member of the Reykjavík Big Band and a trio called hist og. Being so immersed in music making has taught me about the power of connection, knowing when to lead and when to follow, and the importance of mentorship and practice.
